Office chair styles explained

Back to articles

Most office workers spend 7 or 8 hours a day sitting in the same seat, making the choice of office chair for them extremely important. There is an abundance of office chairs available on the market that can be found online, so how do you go about finding the perfect ones for your business?

In a 3-part series, we’re going to show you the benefits of each style of office chair and the various features that come with them. Today, we are going to focus on different heights of chair backs, which each offer a different type of support for the user’s back.

High back chairs

If you require a chair that extends along the whole length of the back that provides additional support for the shoulders, head and neck, then these chairs are ideal.

Medium back chairs

Like the high back chairs, these ones still offer a large amount of support for the back, but not much for the neck and head. These chair types are most commonly found in the office.

Low back chairs

Also known as ‘task chairs’, these only offer support for the mid back and below. These chairs typically have limited adjustability, and are designed to be used whilst sat at the office desk.

We offer a huge range of office chairs, varying in shapes and sizes to suit different uses. We also offer chairs with adjustable back heights at the lowest prices online, so see what savings you could make today!
